Abstract
In differential equations courses in engineering, the applications of these equations are usually studied; therefore, it is important that engineering students are able to build mathematical models associated with some phenomenon of basic sciences or engineering. In this work, a proposal is presented to mathematically model the mixing problems. The mathematical model associated with this problem turns out to be a first order differential equation. In addition, an analysis of the resulting model is made and its general solution is determined.
