In search of preserving health, human beings make use of different drugs to alleviate their illness; the constant consumption of these preparations causes their metabolites to be a waste excreted by the body, which is why it is found in water. waste, coupled with the fact that medications are not disposed of correctly when they are expired or left over from treatments, it is for this reason that drugs are currently considered emerging contaminants, since they are found in concentrations where they are potentially dangerous for human health and the environment in which we operate.
