Abstract
Society often confuses the word "technology" with the digital realm, but it encompasses much more. Technology refers to the application of science to enhance our abilities or compensate for our limitations. It can be as simple as fire or the wheel, or as complex as computers. Digital technology or ICT (Information and Communication Technology) refers to electronic devices, the internet, software, and digital devices. However, there are other non-digital technologies that are often overlooked. This article provides an explanation of the difference between these terms, an explanation of the confusion surrounding them, and examples that will better illustrate their conceptual and tangible differences.
