Abstract
This article analyzes antibiotic resistance and the role of the gut microbiome, highlighting probiotics, especially those of the genus Lactobacillus, as an alternative to reduce reliance on these drugs. It describes their mechanisms of action, potential therapeutic applications, and the need for further studies to optimize their use and regulation, considering their potential to help reduce antimicrobial resistance and improve global health.
