AZCATL Call for Papers

AZCATL is an open-access, biannual electronic journal published by the Division of Basic Sciences and Engineering (DCBI) at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Azcapotzalco Campus (UAM-A). Its goal is to publish outreach articles in the fields of science, engineering, and innovation.

The Editorial Board of the AZCATL journal

General Guidelines:

  • A maximum of four authors is recommended.

  • Articles must be submitted in Word format.

  • Please include the title, an abstract of no more than 100 words, and three keywords — all in both Spanish and English.

  • Articles should be 4 to 6 pages in length.

  • Images, tables, and graphs reproduced from any print or digital source are protected under the Federal Copyright Law. Therefore, all visual content should primarily be created by the article’s authors. If using third-party images, written reproduction permission must be obtained from the copyright holder. All external images must be properly cited (e.g., CC BY).

  • References must follow APA style, if included.

  • Submit a separate Word document with the authors' information: full name, institutional affiliation, short bio (maximum 100 words), email address, and, if available, ORCID ID and research lines.

  • Articles must be submitted through the journal’s website and via email.

  • Submissions must comply with the stylistic and citation requirements described in the Instructions for Authors.

Review Process:

The Editorial Board will conduct an initial review to determine whether the article meets the journal's editorial guidelines and will verify its originality using specialized software. Articles that fail to meet these criteria or that contain copyrighted material without proper authorization will be rejected.

If the article passes the initial review, it will be sent to subject-area reviewers. Based on their evaluations, the Editorial Board will issue a final decision.

Accepted articles will be published in the next available issue. Authors will be notified of the publication date via email upon acceptance.

We look forward to receiving your submissions and working together to make our outreach journal an accessible and engaging source of knowledge for our readers!
