Azcatl is an open-access, biannual electronic journal whose purpose is to publish outreach articles in the fields of basic sciences and engineering. Each issue consists of a selection of articles that are rigorously reviewed through a double-blind peer review process.
The journal is edited and funded by the Division of Basic Sciences and Engineering (DCBI) of the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Azcapotzalco Campus (UAM-A).

This journal is intended for academics and students in upper-secondary and higher education, both Spanish- and English-speaking.
Review Process
The Editorial Committee will conduct an initial evaluation to determine whether the article meets the requirements outlined in the Instructions for Authors and will verify its originality using specialized software. The submission will be rejected if it fails to meet these criteria or if copyrighted content is detected without proper authorization from the copyright holder.
The article will then be reviewed by three peer reviewers in the relevant area of knowledge, following a double-blind review process.
At least two favorable evaluations are required for the Editorial Committee to issue a final decision approving publication.
The Editorial Committee will resolve any unforeseen situations not covered by the current editorial guidelines and may, if deemed necessary, consult the Office of the General Counsel of UAM or any other appropriate university body.
